Pamela Hess is the executive director of the Arcadia Center for Sustainable Food & Agriculture. Arcadia is dedicated to creating a more equitable and sustainable local food system in the Washington, DC area. Pam joined Arcadia after two years as editor of Flavor magazine, which told the stories of the farmers and chefs who grow and cook with local, sustainable grown food. Pam spent nearly 20 years in journalism, covering the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan for UPI and intelligence and the CIA for the Associate Press. Pamela was interviewed by NPR for an article about eating well on a budget.
