As Co-Founder and Chief Marketing Scientist, George helped develop RKG’s paid search management system, and has remained involved in the ongoing evolution of RKG’s proprietary platform. An acknowledged thought-leader in Paid Search Marketing, he sits on Google’s SEM Advisory Council, serves as an unofficial consultant for the Bing product development team, and fields regular calls from the investment banking community.
Prior to RKG, George worked as Manager of Marketing Systems at Crutchfield Corporation. There, he worked on the channel attribution problem, helped develop Crutchfield’s early PPC bidding system, and had primary responsibility for Crutchfield’s list rental and alternative media programs. Outside of marketing, he served as ‘Analyst at Large’ for the company tackling challenging problems related to forecasting, operational efficiency and website analytics.
George is the principal author at RKGBlog, one of the top marketing blogs in the world, and contributes a monthly paid search column for Search Engine Land. He speaks at industry conferences including Shop.org, Internet Retailer, SMX (East, West and Advanced), Etail, the DMA Annual show, ACCM and more. He writes and speaks for Internet Retailer, Marketing Profs and Market Motive, and guest lectures at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce and Darden Graduate School of Business.
George holds degrees in physics and math from Macalester College and a master’s degree in political science from the University of Virginia.
