Cynthia Adams actively promotes energy efficiency statewide in Virginia and serves as Vice Chair on the Virginia Energy Efficiency Council’s Governance Board. As Executive Director of the Local Energy Alliance Program (LEAP), an energy services nonprofit, she has developed innovative energy efficiency programs for residential and commercial buildings in central and northern Virginia. Through her work with LEAP, Ms. Adams has been involved in a number of important industry initiatives, including the first successful PowerSaver loan program, the DOE’s HomeEnergyScore, the piloting of home performance XML, and valuing the energy upgrade as part of the appraisal process. She also has over a decade of experience in the green construction field - as a partner in a consulting company for sustainable building, part-owner of a sustainable design showroom, and co-founder of a green design-build construction company. Ms. Adams is a U.S. Green Building Council LEED AP.
