Adrian Felts is currently the Operations Manager for Battelle in Charlottesville, VA.   He started his career at Battelle as a biological and chemical warfare analyst and quickly grew into a program manager and line manager as the intelligence needs of our country grew.  After 9/11 Adrian managed several national security contracts that were awarded to Battelle to research and analyze threats to our warfighters and homeland.

As the nation’s largest non-profit R&D company, Battelle invests heavily in the development of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education initiatives.  Adrian works with local school systems and other non-profits that are focused on developing a strong workforce with an education in STEM areas.  He currently sits on several boards including the United Way – Thomas Jefferson Area, the Charlottesville Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Charlottesville Business and Innovation Council, the Piedmont Virginia Community College Educational Foundation, and the Virginia State Science and Engineering Fair.  He is also co-founder and the current President of the Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association Central VA Chapter and the Director of the Virginia Piedmont Regional Science Fair.  He has also fostered other strong relationships with multiple departments and schools of the University of Virginia.

Adrian is married to Albemarle County Emergency Management Coordinator, Kirby Felts.  They live in the city of Charlottesville and have two sons, Merritt and Anders.  Adrian is an avid cook and musician and can be seen fronting his band, Mirage, at multiple venues in Central and Northern VA on many weekends throughout the year.

Adrian will be speaking on the Entrepreneurial Mindset in Our Schools.
