What do you do after building what’s been called “the most gorgeous photosharing app ever” and selling it to Facebook? For Divvyshot co-founder, serial entrepreneur, and U.Va. alum Sam Odio, it’s his current startup: Y Combinator-backed Freshplum.
A self-described “serial tech entrepreneur,” Sam built his first computer at age 14 and started his first business, MyTeks computer repair, at age 17, to fund his education at the University of Virginia. An IT consulting company, he quickly grew MyTeks to serve 7 metropolitan areas across the United States, while double-majoring in Finance and Economics and simultaneously pursuing a Master’s degree in Accounting. In his off time, Odio enjoys off-roading, scuba diving, and his Airedale terrier, Ronin.
Sam knows a thing or two about the connection between perseverance, innovation, and success. His talk is followed by a panel discussion on Cultures Founding, with special emphasis on student entrepreneurship at U.Va. and local founders who are invested in fostering entrepreneurial students.
