Elikeh is an eclectic 9-piece Afro-pop band from Washington, DC featuring guitar, sax, trumpet, keys, congas, bass, and drums. The group is fundamentally influenced by Togolese rhythms, but branches out into exploration of American blues, funk, and rock to create an exciting and diverse live experience. Band leader Massama Dogo was born in Togo and developed his technique by practicing and performing with local bands. Since Elikeh’s incepton, the group has been the object of extensive regional acclaim, including multiple WAMMIE awards and Washington press features. They were also nominated for Best World Beat Album at the Independent Music Awards.
