"The horseless carriage, a radio with pictures, and the earless rabbit" with Coy Barefoot

earless rabbit is a 2012 Tom Tom Innovator in Residence. Described as THE online TV network for Charlottesville, earless rabbit camera crews will be there to cover a variety of TomTom Festival events, including musical performances, art events and innovation talks as well. This Monday evening Tom Tom Talks event will feature earless rabbit co-founder Coy Barefoot— local historian, professor, best-selling author, and radio personality. Coy will sketch out a history of changes in technology and how the Charlottesville market now finds itself at the center of a revolution in media and marketing.The earless rabbit network is helping to create what comes after traditional TV, after radio and after newspapers. "The internet is not simply changing the old media models we grew up with," Barefoot says, "it is creating something altogether new and different in our lifetime. And it's happening right here in Charlottesville." Barefoot will discuss the "earless rabbit vision" — which includes a commitment to re-invent local television for the 21st century, to kill the 30 and 60-second tv ad of the 1900s, and to cover the news, events, culture and history of the Charlottesville region in a way it has never been covered before. This first-ever Tom Tom Talks event is an evening you will not want to miss.

Hosted every Monday evening through the Festival at the Tom Tom Headquarters in downtown Charlottesville, these Talks are a great casual way to interact with our Innovators and artists. Each Tom Tom Talks event is free and open to the public and will include a musical accompaniment.
